Gates and barrier structures

Gerwick engineers have designed sea walls, bund walls, slurry walls, secant pile walls, underwater cut-off walls an array of gates in open channels and closed conduits.

Our engineers are adept at interpreting geotechnical data and specifying additional studies needed for complete design of barrier structures, and design a workable solution to remedy the problem.

Often, as a basis for the detailed design, a hydrographic study, including assessment of water level variations, wind speeds, wind-generated waves, and wake from passing vessels is examined. We also assess tidal currents and vessel-generated currents to mitigate any future construction delays.
