Gerwick uses Finite Element (FE) computer models to check the designs of complex permanent and temporary bridge foundations, piers, and superstructures.
We have both linear and non-linear FEM capabilities and will tailor the analysis to the degree of complexity that is necessary. Our design work has utilized FE models to aid the design of bridge pier cofferdams for widening and rehabilitation, movable, replacement, post-tensioned concrete box girder bridge elements, and the construction staging of steel bents retrofitted as moment frames to resist major earthquakes.
